The iPod: Greatest invention since Gutenberg's printing press

Oh iPod nano, how I love thee!
The iPod is one of the single most amazing inventions that can be used to further the evolving consciousness on earth. (It can of course also be used for "auditory masturbation" and shutting the world out, and it's also poorly designed, but today I will sing its praises.)
I have my nano loaded up with about 26 hours of inspiring, motivating, educational audio: David Deida, Tony Robbins, Eckhart Tolle, and more. One can easily get TONS of cheap audio by joining a website like Jiggerbug which is basically Netflix for audio books--and from what I can tell of their terms of use, it seems legal to make copies of the CDs you receive in the mail if you don't share them with anybody.
I'm also beginning to collect inspiring songs that put me into resourceful states (excitement, love, passion, etc) like Bring it On by Seal, Get Ready For This, the Star Wars theme, Diana Krall to well up feelings of romantic love, etc. What fun!
And at least one website sells individual songs for about 6-10 cents--as opposed to the $1 a song rates of the iTunes store, which makes it reasonable to buy music legally, which I'm committed to doing.
[UPDATE (26apr2006): AllofMp3.com seems to be a shady semi-legal Russian company that gets around Russian copyright laws by producing songs on demand. Not exactly legal music, and my bank is no longer letting me use my check card there. Back to iTunes....]
How could one use this magical device to massively improve the quality of their life?
First, acquire copies of the exact audio learning programs that would be right for you right now (David Deida for me right now). Load up your pod with it.
Then get a hold of 50-100 songs and put them in a "motivational music" playlist.
Now (if you live in Bouder) get up at 7am or earlier and go hike a mountain--listening and learning as you climb and simultaneously take in the natural beauty that surrounds you (pausing the audio at times to fully take in the moment). And at the top, rock out to U2's Beautiful Day, dancing and singing along and breathing fully and expressing your deepest depth of your heart fully, radiating love to the town below and the universe in all directions.
And walking down the mountain, move meditatively but quickly in silence, noticing every step and every muscle movement and every breath while also allowing the beauty and radiance of the sun and the rocks and the trees to fill you overflowing with love and gratitude.
And yes, I did the above twice this week and I'm going again tomorrow morning. :)

woo! That's passion!
I was looking forward to my first hike this spring, but I'm a little weary now. think I might enjoy my ipod at the gym.
duff - you are an inspiration! I sadly have no i-pod but will get up early tomorrow and hike, here on my secluded jewel of an island on the west coast…and hum away to the voices and rhythms that surround me. enjoy!
