How to whip yourself up into an ecstatic, unstoppable frenzy

In this blog post, I'll share with you an affirmation that Tony Robbins used to whip himself into a manic, vibrating, unstoppable frenzy before every prospect and every seminar.
This affirmation is like mental TNT--extremely powerful, dangerous if used recklessly or needlessly, incredible if used carefully and sparingly. Personally I've blown out my adrenals back when I used this too often, but when balanced with other grounding techniques like relaxation and meditation, it is a great tool to have available.
This affirmation is not of the typical Stuart Smalley variety ("I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!"). This is more like the crack of affirmations--a hard hit that will blast through any fear, anxiety, or hesitations.
The key to this affirmation is to scream it out loud at the top of your lungs as fast as possible over and over again with all the enthusiasm and power and energy you can muster until you are literally VIBRATING and feel totally UNSTOPPABLE. Yes, this is crazy. Yes, people will think you are crazy--because you are. You are literally entering an altered state known as mania. This is why the technique is dangerous!
By the way, DO NOT TRY THIS TECHNIQUE IF YOU HAVE ANY MENTAL IMBALANCE WHATSOEVER. I'm not a psychologist, and you assume total responsibilty for your mental and emotional health. Back when I first used this stuff, I threw myself into crazy mood swings, but I knew how to deal with it because I had done lots of previous self-development work.
On the flip side, I've broken through massive fears--especially social anxiety--by using this technique alone...and VERY quickly.
So without further ado, this is Tony's affirmation which he used before a sales pitch:
Using the same structure, you can create such a manic, crazy, powerful, unstoppable state in yourself and associate it to your own goal. This works best in situations that call for breaking through fears and using charisma, power, enthusiasm, high energy, excitement, and similar states. This technique will be ineffective or counter-productive in situations that require patience, peace, love, listening, behind-the-scenes work, or low energy.
People literally won't know what to do with you when you are vibrating with this much energy--some will follow you, others will be repelled from you, tons of people will want to give you stuff (money, sex, free drinks etc.), and NOBODY will get in your way. Be hyper-ethical and stay grounded!!
Truly this must be experienced to be believed. Imagine me going from totally shy to meeting over 50+ people a night and having really intense personal connections with each. I could tell you story after story--like going from not having a date in over a year to being in a club one night and woman after woman comes up to me and tells me she is in love with me (and deeply knowing it's not me but the Freedom I'm experiencing that they love, and knowing that we are all this Freedom and that I can't give it to anyone any more than I could go to the bathroom for someone else). Very strange stuff, wildly powerful and magical.
Manic yes, crazy yes, unsustainable yes, but a breakthrough that changed my life and my self-image forever. (And for my next trick I'm going to integrate this manic energy with the focus, clarity, and relaxation of vipassana meditation.... :)
This technique and techniques like it helped me to become a charismatic, popular dude on the dance floor. My biggest fear used to be dancing in public, and now it is one of my biggest joys. However it is only one tool, and a tool that needs to be used carefully and wisely. Use it in moderation, but do use it! It takes courage to even consider being this outrageous, but the payoff is enormous--if you are careful and don't get addicted to the power and charisma or raw energy of it all.
What do you fear? You can use this technique to blast through your fear FOREVER and live as the totally free soul you really are. Or you could go sit on a cushion--that works too. ;)

"I now command my subconscious mind to direct me in helping this person TODAY to better his life, by giving me the strength, the emotion, the persuasion, the humor, the brevity, whatever it takes, to show this person and get this person to invest in the course so that he can experience all the benefits that he truly desires and deserves!! I will do whatever it takes and I will succeed in assisting him to make this decision positively NOW!!"

Are people offering you money, sex and free drinks? Cool.
I personally like to yell and scream, dance like a maniac, then sit on a cushion and meditate.
You are on fire brutha!
Keep sharing your wisdom. Your energy is infectious.
Love ya
Duff I’m tempted to yell and scream right now !! But somehow I doubt anyone else in the building would appreciate this at 3 in the morning ;)
Thanks for sharing this - I’ll take your injunction and observe the results :)

=) Cool stuff man!
It’s definitely been a wild ride. I encouraged a coaching client to try a similar method today–we’ll see how it works for him. I gave him the palatable, lighter version.
@Christiana: Yes, people have offered me all the temptations of the universe when I get all charismatic and crazy. At one bar in town the owner offered me free drinks for life–but I don’t drink, so I got a free dessert instead. :) I’ve had so many people offer me drugs its insane–it’s a good thing that I don’t have any interest or I’d be in a gutter right now. Part of this tantra-like path involves knowing yourself deeply and keeping clear of shit that will put you on a bad path–for me drugs don’t mix with my self-induced ecstacy.
@Ryan: Definitely something to practice during daylight hours if you live in an apartment building. Don’t want the cops knocking on your door to take you off to the asylum!
@Dave: Exactly! Tony Robbins says that the only thing stopping you from getting what you want is the bullshit stories you tell yourself about why you can’t have it.
Dood. This is hilarious. And brilliant. I especially love it as I just read your next post on “meditation.” Such a cool juxtaposition. The trick is in the full-spectrum integration, eh?
I remember one end-of-the-day segment of Tony’s Date with Destiny last year where we were supposed to get all geeked up to set our life’s intention (after like 4 16 hours a day of pure adrenal burning) and I was like: uh, right…I went home, took a bath and had the most incredible visualisation yet…
It’s fun to be able to put ourselves in “state” from either end: the calming meditative angle and the “WHAT UP?!?!!” crack style angle.
Great stuff, yo! Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi, one of my interests is affirmations and I’m glad I found your blog post.
I tried several times to make my own affirmation using the same structure as TR’s, but the words still don’t seem right or inspiring enough to me. Can you share the exact words or statement that you used to overcome your social anxiety (etc.)? About how many times/days did you repeat it to get/feel the results and to completely overcome it? Do you still need to repeat this specific affirmation now? Thx in advance.
